ResiHome has once again been recognized by propertymanagement.com as one of the best property management companies in Atlanta! 2022 marks the third year—including 2020 and 2019, respectively—that the annual award has selected us as recipients. The award recognizes property management companies that consistently show exceptional performance while providing clients with a high level of value and service. As always, we’re committed to the continuous improvement of our processes and our personnel. We’ve received this honor multiple times because of our amazingly dedicated team members!

Acey Stinson, ResiHome’s Vice President of Property Management, said of the award,

Acey Stinson, ResiHome's VP of Property Management.

We’re honored to be recognized as one of the best property management companies in Atlanta. Since winning our last award, we’ve greatly expanded our expertise by adding additional talented and experienced team members.  As we expand our portfolio, we are excited about continuing to offer the best service in the industry to our clients and residents.

Stronger commitment to our customers.

We’ve always put our customers first, as our past awards prove. But we’re not content to rest on our laurels. In recent months, we’ve implemented new training so our customer service team is even more effective at responding to our customers and solving any issue that may arise. Whether you reach out to us over the phone, via email, or on social media, we guarantee that someone is working to help you solve whatever problem you may have.

Since being recognized in 2020, we have made substantial improvements to our customer service. These include better employee training programs, revamped Live Chat functionality, and enhanced escalation protocols. We will continue to improve who we are as a company and what we offer as a service; our customers deserve nothing less.

Shawn Braxton, ResiHome's National Director of Property Management.

We want to deliver first-class service that builds trust and authentic relationships with our residents, clients, vendors and teammates. We’re here to give our residents peace of mind to focus on what really matters, making a house into a home and creating lifelong memories.

One of the many ways we focus on delivering the best experience for our customers is through multiple points of availability. Current and prospective residents can easily reach us via phone, email, and social media. Many companies simply post content in a by-the-numbers manner on their social media channels. We, on the other hand, actually monitor our social pages and respond to comments left by our tenants and anyone interested in our services. Our driving purpose is to go above and beyond for our customers. That’s why we strive to set the bar higher in the Property Management industry.

Katie Hamby, our Resident Relations Manager, further expounds upon this, saying,

Katie Hamby, ResiHome's

At ResiHome we are resetting the industry standard for delivering exceptional service in everything we do. ResiHome is not just your average Property Management company, we are a new breed excited to redefine expectations with a mission to change the course of how Property Management is viewed. We are rebuilding and revising the definition of what customer service truly means and training our team members as well as implementing our vision and daily purpose into every day actions.

High-quality homes to match our customer service.

Since winning our last award, we’ve expanded our portfolio to include not only renovated homes, but also new builds. Furthermore, we now also offer dedicated rental communities with amenities, smart home tech, and 24/7 maintenance support. But that doesn’t mean we’re content to rest on our laurels. We’re looking forward to further solidifying our reputation for excellence well into the future. Thank you for allowing us to be one of the best property management companies in Atlanta!

Rent easily and live comfortably with ResiHome!

Now that warm weather is here to stay, it’s almost time for the vacation season to start! But, before you head out for vacation, it’s important to prepare your rental home for the few days that you’ll be away. Listed below are four effective tips on how to best prepare your rental home for summer vacation so that coming home is something you look forward to and not something that you dread!

1. Clean your house before you leave for vacation. //

While not always a fun task, it’s an important one, nonetheless. Before you head out for a trip (especially if you’ll be gone longer than 3 days), it’s always a good idea to get rid of perishable food items in your fridge, wipe down your kitchen, and empty out the trash. There’s nothing worse than coming home to dirty dishes in the sink and stinky trash in your trashcan, so take the time before you leave to prepare your home for your return.

Pro Tip: Schedule a grocery delivery for when you get home from your vacation. //

Scheduling a grocery delivery for around the time you’re scheduled to arrive home is an easy task that makes your return home from an amazing vacation so much more bearable. It’s as easy as 1-2-3 online and it saves you that dreaded just-got-back-from-vacation grocery trip where you’re hangry because there’s no food in your fridge at home and exhausted by a week spent away.

2. Purchase an indoor lighting timer for added security. //

Kinda nervous about leaving your home for a long trip? Buy an indoor lighting timer to add an extra layer to your home security. With your indoor lights on a sequence, you can schedule when your lights go off and on, giving the allusion that someone is home. While this traditional method of home security isn’t guaranteed, it can definitely bring some comfort in knowing that it at least looks like someone is home. 3. Unplug any unnecessary appliances and electronics. //

To save money on your electric bills while you’re away, unplug unnecessary electrical items before you leave on vacation, such as your TV, toaster oven, phone chargers, and more. Unplugging your unused electrical devices also protects your electronics and appliances from unexpected power surges that may occur while you’re away on vacation.

A wide variety of appliances are unplugged and safely placed away from wall plugs as a family prepares their home for their upcoming summer vacation.

4. Have friends and family stop by to check on your home while you’re away. //

There’s nothing more frustrating than coming home from vacation to a dripping kitchen ceiling or a flooded basement, so it is always helpful to have a friend or family member check in on your rental home while you’re away to make sure that nothing is out of the ordinary. This is especially helpful when an unexpected storm comes through. Plus, having a friend look in while you’re away can be comforting, and provides an added sense of home security.

With the start of summer almost upon us, it’s time to prepare your rental home so that you can fully enjoy the sunny season without the stress and inconvenience of last-minute upkeep! Here are six things that you can do to get your rental home ready for the warm summer months so that you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the start of summer.

1. Test Your AC Unit //

Instead of waiting for the first sweltering day of summer to turn on your AC, check to make sure your AC unit is working properly as early as April or May. When the weather is in that ideal in-between of late spring and early summer, turn on your air conditioning unit to see if there’s any maintenance that needs to be done. This is a great opportunity to make sure that everything is running smoothly in your AC unit, allowing you to enjoy a nice, air-conditioned home that keeps you cool all summer long.

2. Check Your Window and Exterior Door Sealants //

Now that you’ve checked your AC unit to make sure that it’s working properly, it’s time to check your doors and windows to make sure they are properly sealed. Go through your rental home and inspect all exterior facing doors and windows so that they are suitably sealed to take on the summer storms and unrelenting heat.

3. Change Your Air Filter! //

Switching out your air filter on a regular quarterly basis helps you avoid dirty air filters that block the flow of clean, cool air, which is especially important during the height of the summer. Replacing your air filter is a simple but crucial task in home upkeep.

4. Declutter, declutter, declutter! //

You know all those little I’ll-use-it-one-day tidbits that have been slowly taking over your kitchen drawers? Well, now’s the time to refresh your space – say sayonara to your unused items and be prepared to be amazed at all the space you forgot you had.

Pro Tip: Have a bunch of gently used winter items that you haven’t gotten around to packing away in the attic? Donate bags of gently worn garments to your local charity shop or thrift store. Have a lot of clothing, furniture, and odd-and-ends to get rid of? Host a garage sale! A garage sale is a great way to clear out all of your clutter all at once while also allowing others to re-use and enjoy your gently used items.

5. Outdoor Pest Control //

It’s almost time for summer evenings spent out on the lawn grilling, gardening, and enjoying the beautiful weather. However, it’s easy to forget those little pestering bugs that always seem to show up uninvited. Before summer settles in, take preventative steps to get rid of pests by spraying your lawn down with insect spray, setting out citronella candles, and making sure all windows and doors are properly sealed.

6. General Lawn Maintenance //

With everyone wanting to spend time out of doors, late spring is the perfect time of year to get a headstart on lawn maintenance! Whether trimming walkways, re-mulching your flower beds, or mowing/watering the lawn, these tasks are all simple ways to make your lawn look healthy and ready for summer. To protect your lawn against the unrelenting summer sun, if you have an irrigation system, be sure to adjust your sprinkler settings in line with your county or municipality usage regulations or to your preferred setting (recommended twice per week, 15 mins each time). It’s easy to overlook all the important steps it takes to ensure that your rental home is prepped and ready for the start of the new season. Stay on top of your rental home upkeep and enjoy a relaxing summer!

It may not feel like it entirely, but summertime is here! Despite the circumstances, there are tons of things you can do with your family, roommate, significant other, and yourself! Not only are there still many activities to do, but don’t forget that now is a great time to take advantage of doing those things you’ve been wanting or needing to do but didn’t have the time. Since you don’t have the FOMO (fear of missing out) on hanging out with your friends and coworkers, take this time to take that online class, learn a new skill, or organize your online photos, or call your parents/friends every day! Read on for some great ideas on having fun and bettering yourself!

Good old indoor fun:

  • Game night: family game night, roommate game night, or virtual game night – here’s your opportunity to convince everyone to play your favorite game! Live alone? Find an online trivia game you can play with family or friends! You can rotate who chooses the game, switch it up, and even create your own rules each time. Puzzles can be done alone or with others and can take weeks to complete!
  • Movie night: Show a movie on the main television in your home, and make it an event. Serve popcorn, sodas, and candy and let everyone pick a movie each week! Surprisingly, movie night can also be a virtual activity if you live alone. Just have your friend or family member watch it at the same time so you can laugh and cry together.

Enjoy the great outdoors:

It’s summer – take advantage of the (hot) weather! It’s a great time for hiking, bike rides, or just a good long walk! Now is even a good time for camping. You can spend time appreciating the outdoors while you get some exercise, too! Have kids? Get a little inflatable pool – you will be surprised how much they enjoy a tiny bin filled with water. You can also have a water balloon fight or create your own slip n’ slide!

With or without kids, have a picnic in your yard or on your balcony/deck. Just don’t do it in the middle of the day so it’s not too hot!

You know what else now is a great time for? Improving your landscaping! If you have some extra time, head to the local store to grab some new plants and flowers, or get some herbs and vegetables and start the garden you didn’t have time for before!

Learn a new skill.

Don’t let this time go to waste! Even if you only have an additional hour in your day from not commuting, or you’re still working each day but aren’t spending as much time with friends and family – now is a time to take advantage of!

  • Make music: There has never been a better time to pick up a new instrument! Get out that old guitar or purchase one from Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace and get started! Some are easier and less expensive than others, like the ukulele. A quick Google search will give you all the videos and tutorials you need!
  • Learn a language: You can do this alone or with your roommates. Practice with whoever you can and even take some time to cook the food from that native country. There are apps like Duolingo where you can learn for free!

Do some good in the world.

As much fun as we can have right now, what’s going on in the world is rough! Do your part and donate to your local charity or volunteer. Chances are that your local food pantries are struggling and in need of food. Bring your extra cans and ask how you can help!

Take time to work on your health.

This one might not sound as fun as the others, but it can be! Gym closed? No problem! Youtube and other Apps are home to some amazing free workouts. Try Popsugar or Yoga with Adrienne on Youtube, or the Daily Workouts App.

If you’re working out indoors, don’t forget to still get outside! Make a habit of taking a long walk each night after dinner and you’d be amazed by the health benefits that just that can bring!

This might be a short list, but there are tons of activities to pass the time! From home cooking competitions to virtual dance parties, we know there’s something for everyone! Despite the sadness of the world, do your best to enjoy the time you can spend with your loved ones – virtually or in person.
